Oftentimes when I
pray, I pray about the things that matter to me. I pray that God will help me
with this and that. I pray for happiness, for healing, for good health, for
safety and protection. I pray for a lot of things. And I think it’s just
normal, right? I mean, don’t we all pray for these same things? Don’t you also pray
for God to continue to bless you and the people you care about? If you ask me,
I pray about these things a lot everyday. I pray for what I need and what I
want.
I used to not pay any attention to my birthday. I even used to think that just thinking about my birthday is already a sign of immaturity. I don’t know how I adopted that ridiculous idea and where or
who I got that from but for a long time, I have been avoiding any discussion
revolving around my birthday. But this year is different. It was my birthday five
days ago and I was very happy to celebrate it because I realized, “why
shouldn't I?” Birthdays, after all, are a reminder of God's miracle
called LIFE. So let us all be happy about our birthdays and let us do our best to
celebrate it every way we can! :)
When
I woke up this morning, the first thing I thought of was, "whoah! i'm still alive."
Don't be alarmed. I'm not sick, okay? I'm just amazed that I'm still breathing.
You see, I'm a masterpiece of God. And so are you! The awesome fact that I
still breathe is purely God's work. It's God's blessing that I still live up to this day to witness God's creations, God's miracles. And
so it dawned on me that I don't need to receive anything more than what I am
getting every single day from God to call myself blessed. The mere fact I'm
alive is reason enough to be thankful.
As
usual, my husband kissed me on the lips before he took a bath this morning. He was smiling when he got out of the shower and while he was prepping
for work. He's happy and I'm happy. Due to the nature of his job, he has to go
to work every other weekend and this is that weekend for him. He reached his office
safely and I had a wonderful morning with my sister and her family.
Truly
it's the little things that make life wonderful and all these are because of
God. He is the beginning and the end. I realized once again that just the
thought of God's love is enough to fill me up and keep me going day by day. His
grace and mercy are what keeping me alive and well up to this day. And now that
my birthday is just two sleeps away, I have nothing but never-ending gratitude
to my Father in heaven for sending Jesus Christ for my salvation and for making
it possible for me to live this long.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Lord. Thank you for all the little things that make my life happy, interesting and
wonderful.
Oftentimes when I
pray for something, I have like a timeline at the back of my mind for when I
want to receive the answers to my prayers. Good thing, that's not how God
works. His ways and thoughts are higher than ours and His timing is always
perfect. So when is the right time for our prayers to be answered?
I don't know how I remember this but when I was a kid, about 3-4 yrs
old, Tatay (my dad) would carry me lullaby-style whenever I was starting to get
sleepy. He'd do this even when we had visitors and I really don't know how I can
recall this but I even remember pretending to be sleepy just so Tatay would carry me that way and keep me in his arms because
I knew the moment I opened my eyes, he would know I was far from being sleepy
and would put me down so I could just play and eventually get really sleepy.
That's how I used to buy more time to spend with Tatay.
You know one of
the best things I truly love about God? His inconceivable patience with me. I
can still remember how I used to always tell God that I love him and that I’ll
make time for Him, just not today coz I’m very busy, I got so much things to
do, I got so much on my plate – that setting aside even a 10-minute exclusive
time for Him just seemed to be so much. But you know what I learned and
discovered all throughout those years that I didn’t choose to give God the time
He so deserves? The more I tried to do everything I want and need to do, the
more I struggled with time. It’s as if there’s just not enough time in the world
for what I want to happen in my life. But what do I really want to happen in my
life?
They say the
best thing we can give the person we love is our “time”. I hear a lot of people
saying they love God. I say that, too, quite often in fact. Then I realize
something. In my long years of existence here on earth, how much time have I
given to God? I have 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week. How much of it have I
allotted to God? Hmmm… Gotta be honest here, certainly not enough.
Wait! Don’t I
pray everyday? Well, I do! In fact I always talk to Him in my mind and in my
heart. Then, shouldn’t that be enough?
Hmmm… you know
what? I love my husband so much and up to this day I’m still in love with him.
I can say we enjoy each other’s company very much. We talk everyday, in person
and thru text messages and phone calls. We just can’t seem to get enough of
each other despite seeing each other and being together everyday. Despite this
constant communication that we have, we still go out on dates. It seems there’s just no end to how much we express our love
for each other. Now, shouldn’t we be like this to God, too? If we say we love
Him, shouldn’t we express how much we love Him every time and way we can? He,
after all, is the author of our lives. He is the reason we breathe. Setting a
time exclusively for God shouldn’t be hard. It shouldn’t feel like a task. It
should be something that we deeply desire. You know what’s amazing? Whenever we
set a time for God, we actually also set a time for our soul and spirit. Allotting
an exclusive time for Jesus also means giving our soul and spirit its much-needed
R&R. Because there’s no greater joy than to be in God’s presence because in
His presence there’s love, joy and serenity.
I wish you all a
blessed Sunday and may we all have a wonderful time with our Lord Jesus
Christ today.

Hi! It’s me, Becca. I know it’s been a while since I post something for
Serenity Sunday and probably no one knows or remembers me or this series anymore, but that’s
alright! Because this post is not about me. This post is about the reason I’m
thankful for this day. This post is about the amazing love of our Father in
heaven who didn’t think twice to send here on earth His only begotten Son to be
born as a man and live like a normal human being only to suffer an excruciatingly
painful death in the end just so you and I could live and one day enjoy eternal
life with God in heaven.
Yes, this is about JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Savior and the reason why
we have Christmas and why there could be NO reason for us not to be thankful
every day. You see, even if we’re experiencing troubles and hardships, the
thought of JESUS should be enough to put a smile on our face and for us to take
a moment to thank the Lord for what a wonderful day He’s made and allowed us to
experience today. Whether we accept this truth or not, we really don’t need any
material things to be happy today. What we truly need is a moment of silence
and peace, a moment to realize that “Hey! I’m still breathing! I’m alive! I
live today because Someone once died for my sins so I could have life today.”
Okay, you may think that you don’t even have a good life to be thankful for to
begin with. Or you may be at a crossroads right now trying to decide which way
to go and what to do with your life. But hear this, “Do not give up.” I say this
not just to you but to myself as well. Even Jesus Christ who lived a righteous
life here on earth went through trials and hardships, so let us not give up just yet.
Jesus already showed us how to live life even when it’s not good. Jesus didn’t
deserve to be humiliated and ridiculed by the very people He came to earth for
to save and yet He went through all of it. Talk about hardships, Jesus didn’t
even deserve to die on the cross of Calvary but He did it. It’s not a reason
we’re human because He, too, was human when He did all that. The thing is: HE
DIDN’T GIVE UP. He didn’t give up
because He knew His purpose in life. He didn’t give up because He knew that our
Father in heaven was there for Him. Yes, these are just words. Yes, it's so easy to not give up when you know a good fortune awaits you down the road. But hey! Jesus went through with life showing others the
love and power of God knowing that at the end of his journey as a human being,
he will die a death he didn’t even deserve. So if you say that LIFE IS NOT FAIR for you, talk to Jesus about it because He certainly knows what you mean by that. You know what? Despite life being unfair, Jesus still didn’t give up. He didn’t give
up for us and He surely is NOT GIVING UP ON US RIGHT NOW.
So, whatever it is you’re going through right now that’s keeping you
from being happy and thankful for this day, have faith that you’re going to get through it. We just need to do the first step: TRUST IN GOD. Let us learn to trust in God and give up our burdens to Him. It’s true that there are some loads
that are too heavy for us to carry, but that’s why we have a merciful Father in
Heaven who’s always ready to give us a helping hand if we’d only let Him. For
once, let us give him the control of the wheel of our lives and let us take
this moment to simply be thankful for today.
Merry Christmas everyone! I sincerely hope and pray that we all continue
to experience our Lord’s love, grace and mercy every single day of our lives.
A blessed Sunday morning to you!
Today I want to testify about the greatness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Over the
past two weeks, my family, I and our close friends and relatives were all
praying for my sister (the only sibling I have left) to get well. She was
diagnosed with Herpes Zoster aka Shingles two weeks ago and boy was it nasty! Not only was
it difficult to treat, it also caused my sister’s body and immune system to
really break down, thus giving birth to other complications. The hospital bill
sky-rocketed and I’m telling you, if it weren’t for God’s awesome power, I don’t
know how we’re able to make it out from there. But you know what? We’re able to
pay the bill through God’s mighty provision and my sister is now at home and on
her way to a speedy recovery. How did it all happen? God’s miracle – which brings
me now to the topic of this post: “In everything, give thanks!”
It is so easy to thank the Lord when
everything is going our way, right? It’s easy to be grateful when we’re
blessed, when we’re healthy, when we’re doing great in our job, when we’ve reached our goals, when we’re successful, when everything’s fine. But can
we still thank God when the going gets tough? Can we still say that God is good
when suddenly our world is falling apart? This reminds me of Job and all the
tests he went through and passed for the glory of God.
Job 2:9-10 (NIV)
His wife said to him, “Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!”
He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”
Job is right. Are we only faithful and thankful to the Lord when we have
a good life? How are we in the face of trials and sufferings? You know what I
realized over the past couple of weeks? I realized that the situation brought
me closer to God. I became more prayerful because of what happened to my
sister. God also used the situation for our family to be more united and
faithful to Him. I’m overseas and because of my sister’s condition, my mom
called me almost everyday. I felt closer to home than ever before. Not only
that, brothers and sisters in Christ extended their help like a whirlwind. God's grace is truly amazing and His awesome power is unquestionably unmatched! He showed us once more that in every day of
our lives, there is something to be thankful for whether it’s a blessing or suffering.
I give God my endless praise, worship and thanksgiving today and forever. Amen.

"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in
Christ Jesus."
Good morrrrrrrrninggggg, everyone! And Happy Month of Love!!! ^_^
It’s a fine Sunday morning and I just want to share with y'all how I feel right now. I feel so blessed. Don’t you feel so blessed today, too? I woke up and… yes! That’s it! I. WOKE. UP. Isn’t it amazing, you guys?!? I’m still alive! I’m still breathing. I’m given another day to experience God’s miracles. The sun is up, the wind is blowing and I’m alive and kicking! I feel so blessed for being able to live another day. Another day to live as God’s child. Another day to live as a wife, a sister, a friend, a dreamer, a wanderer… another day to live as MYSELF. :)
You know what? Today, I’m gonna tell you a story. There’s this one story I heard when I was younger (yeah... like over a decade ago - I’m really old, so what?! LOL). And I’m gonna share it with you the way I remember it. Here goes:
***
There was once a painter who wandered out in the streets hoping to see an inspiration for his new masterpiece. While he was walking, he passed by a man who seemed like a beggar because of the way he looked, dressed and acted.
Suddenly, the painter knew what he’s going to paint. He approached the beggar, and asked him if he could be his model for his new masterpiece. With a happy heart and an evidently excited face, the man granted the painter’s request.
The painter asked the man to come to his studio later in the day and the man agreed. Later that day, the painter heard someone knocking on the door. He was ecstatic because he knew that it’s the man from the streets whom he asked to be his model. When he opened the door, a very well-dressed man with neatly combed hair and clean face beheld his eyes. The painter asked who the man was and when the man introduced himself, the painter was in shock.
He tried to immediately recover from his shock and politely asked the man to come inside but the disappointment in his eyes cannot be concealed. The man noticed and asked him what’s wrong.
The painter answered with a question, “What happened?”
The man was confused, so he asked, “What do you mean, sir?”
The painter replied, “You look… so different.”
And the man cheered up because he thought that was a compliment. He said excitedly, “When you asked me to be your model this morning, it’s the happiest moment of my life, because finally there will be a meaning for my existence. Finally, someone saw me. Someone is interested in me. So I asked some kind-hearted people I know to help me look good… look my best. I took a bath, borrowed clothes from some people I know, combed my hair and cleansed my face. I wanted to be the perfect model. I wanted to impress you, sir.”
The painter bowed his head for a moment and when he looked up, he touched the man’s shoulders. He said, “You didn’t have to do anything to impress me. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to come as you are. That’s all I wanted.”
***
And that’s how God is to us. I feel so blessed knowing that I can come to God whenever I want, wherever I am, whatever I’m doing, no matter what I’m wearing. I can come to Him as my bare self and He will gladly accept me with arms opened wide. Knowing how gracious our God is and how unconditional His love is for you and for me is enough reason for me to feel so blessed today.
Let me end this post with this song from Jaci Velasquez. Have a blessed Sunday, everyone!

Isaiah 1:18 (ESV)
“'Come now, let us reason together,' says the Lord:
'though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.'"
Hi everyone! Happy New Year!
It’s been a while since my last post. I have to admit, the holiday season has gotten into me and I guess I just didn’t want it to be over so soon that’s why I slacked on posting here. No? Alright! Yeah, I just got lazy as usual. But hey! Don’t tell me I’m the only one who got lazy after the holiday season. C’mon! I’m sure some of you also went through this same phase, but enough of this. It’s Sunday today and I want to share with you what’s running on my head…
** WARNING: THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG POST. **
New Year, new beginning! So what does that mean to me? Well, I probably haven’t told you this yet, but for the longest time, I’ve been struggling with this what-do-i-really-want-to-do-in-my-life dilemma. And it’s tough! Here’s the problem: there are a lot of things that I want to do and accomplish but I don’t know how I’d be able to do “all of it” with the time I have. Good thing, I learned a very important lesson last year which I would like to hopefully apply this year. I know this is a popular saying but it’s only when I heard it on TV that it stroke me: “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”
My biggest weaknesses are setting of priorities and time management. There are a lot of things that I thought I love equally and my mind is just always racing with ideas for each of these “things” that I love to do. However, I find it difficult to put all these ideas into action with the time I have and with my current level of skills. To give you a more vivid picture of what I’m going through, let me take you back to my childhood days.
Ever since I was a kid, I love drawing. I drew and drew endlessly when I was young. Whenever I drew something, I always had a story for it in my mind. It’s like I was creating a comic book with no texts because the story was just running in my head and I was too lazy to write the dialogues down as I drew the characters. I also thought, “What’s the point? Nobody’s gonna see and read it anyway?”
When I was 12, that’s the first time I started literally writing down my stories. I wrote them on an old notebook and passed it to my classmates for them to read – for free of course! That was fun and I thought that's what I could be when I grow up: either a writer or a comic book illustrator. I didn’t stop with that cool hobby of mine until I graduated high school.
Yeah, I took up BS Architecture in college but that's different. I never liked to draw houses and buildings when I was young, and you know what? Those are exactly what drawings are like in the archi-world. If not for God's grace, I wouldn't know how I'd be able to finish college, haha. Whew! It's probably why I decided to change path after graduation - another long story which I'm not gonna bore you with today.
So! A decade and two years later, I decided to pick up a pen and paper and started drawing again. That’s when I realized how much I’ve missed it and that my skills didn’t change. A good thing? Nope! Yeah, my skills didn’t change which also means they didn’t improve either. And before I stopped sketching/drawing years ago, I already knew that I still have a lot to learn and improve. And now that I’m back, it seems like I’m starting all over again.
The good news is: I found a platform where I can share my drawings and stories to the world. And that platform is no other than YouTube. I have created a channel last year for this hobby and it’s called “BeckarooPresents”. Beckaroo by the way is one of my nicknames. I actually have an ongoing story there right now, but just a heads-up, it’s in my native language: Filipino/Tagalog.
The thing is I have so many great plans for that channel and I know it will take so much of my time. Why? Well, I need to improve on my drawings and I also intend to do animations very soon. In order for me to do all of that, I need to practice more each day which means I might need to sacrifice other things that I love. And what are those other things? One of them is blogging. Oopps! RELAX. I’m not gonna leave this site and give up blogging completely but I’m thinking that I might lay low a little bit, because blogging is not just about writing. It requires a lot of work too. You know – taking photos of products, observing how a product works, jotting down your observations, writing your conclusions, post-processing photos, etc-etc. And while blogging is really fun, I realized just very recently that I love drawing and writing stories more than I love blogging.
Is that it? No. Aside from drawing and writing stories, I also love music. I started composing my own songs when I was in college (2nd year). Since then, I fell in love with the idea of creating my own songs. The problem is, I was never confident with my voice and my songs that I kept all my compositions buried somewhere in my treasure room. After I graduated college, just like what I did with drawing/writing comic books, I also shelved my passion in writing songs. It’s only when I started being active on YouTube that I decided to give it a try again. And because my husband is a really good writer, we decided that he’d be the one in-charge of the lyrics while I’m the one responsible for the tune. Our first song is called “There’s Never You And Me” and I used it as the closing song for each of the episodes of my first Love Story on YouTube. Here’s the complete song, by the way.
Unlike with drawing/writing stories, I have given up on the thought that I’d go far with song-writing, so I’d probably just do it whenever I have a spare time and whenever I need a specific song for my stories. But you know what, last year I thought differently. I was struggling so bad about setting my priorities, because I couldn’t decide which among the things I can do (and love to do) would be okay for me to either give up or lay low on. And that’s when the saying, “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should” really had a big impact in my life.
It made me realize that being able to do all those stuffs doesn’t always mean I have to do all of them. I need to decide which one I should focus on. Even though it doesn’t necessarily mean I have to give up the other things I like, it also doesn’t mean that I should give each of them equal time and attention. Yeah, maybe others can do it smoothly, but I have to accept that I obviously can't. It is only in choosing what I really want to do in life that I could give my 100% time and effort to it and could actually get better in it.
So, for this year, I am looking forward to leveling up my drawing skills and writing more stories. It may sound easy but I'm telling you, it's really not, haha. By the way, I’m sorry for the long post. *shy grin*
How about you? What are you looking forward to this year? Happy New Year again and may we all have a blessed Sunday ahead!

- Psalm 107:1 (NIV)
"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever."
Good morning everyone!
As of typing this, I’m still having my breakfast and
pondering on God’s message for me today. Then I thought, “why not share this
wonderful message with you all today?” Alrightie! I’m currently in the book of
Romans (chapter 2 to be exact) and it’s
about God’s righteous judgment. The first verse in the chapter which I shared
on my Instagram and other social media sites says, “You, therefore, have no excuse,
you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the
other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same
things.” This is very crucial. It is of grave importance that we take
heed of the message of this verse. It is an authoritative reminder that we have
no right (“NO RIGHT”) to judge
others.
As I sit here and stare at the view outside my window,
my mind travels back in time. I go back to those memories where I carelessly
passed judgment on other people without realizing that (1) I’m not perfect and
(2) I might do all those things too. And sure enough, a few years later, I did “those” things too, (which I’m not gonna
elaborate here in full details)
I remember judging others because of the decisions and
actions they made only to find myself doing those same things a few years
later. I kept judging others when I didn’t have the right on the
first place and I only stopped when I found myself in the same situations they were
into, repeating what they did (only in my own version). Did you see the
point? My point is, sometimes, when we can’t seem to get God’s message and we
repeatedly make the same mistakes, He lets us go through something so painful,
something we would not forget, just so we’d understand what He’s trying to
teach us. And sometimes, it is so simple. In this case, He simply wanted me to
learn this: don’t judge others. That’s
just what He’s been trying to teach me all those years and had I not fallen in
the same pits as those people I was judging, I wouldn’t have learned that I don’t
have the right to condemn other people of their sins. If God who is blameless
and righteous has not condemned me for all my sins but rather accepted me with
arms opened wide when I asked for forgiveness, who am I to not do the same to
others who seek of my forgiveness and simply ask that I don’t judge them for
what they did?
Today, let’s evaluate ourselves. How many times have
we judged others? It’s not yet too late to change. Let us come to God and ask
for His forgiveness for all the times we’ve condemned others for what we think
are their wrongdoings. And let’s ask Him to mold our hearts into what He’s
designed it for: TO LOVE unconditionally. Instead of passing judgment on
others, let’s spread love and forgiveness, and together we can build a better
world to live in.
A blessed Sunday everyone!

Hi everyone!
It’s been a week since I last wrote something here. Wow! That’s pretty lazy of me. It’s not about not having something to write. In fact I have a lot in my list. It’s also not about not having enough time, because if there’s a will, there’s a way. It’s actually about not having an efficient time management. Argh! And lately, I’ve been pretty upset with myself because I can’t seem to meet any of my short-term goals. Sigh. Tell me, has anyone of you felt that way, too? Hmmm...
Anyway, today I just want to share with you something I learned. It’s very valuable. It’s about letting love prevail over anything else. Cheesy, huh? Hahaha. Okay! Have you had a day where you run into situations which seem to test your temper over and over again? And when you’re about to get angry already, you’d hear a soft whisper in your heart telling you to think again, to show restraint, to choose not to get mad and to let love prevail instead? WEIRD?
Well, let’s just say that God is really amazing. How He repeatedly accepts us after hurting Him over and over again is just totally beyond me, which brings me to what I mentioned earlier. Today, after getting annoyed so many times (hahaha), I ended choosing to love and refused letting the annoyance and frustration take over. It was not an easy thing to do, but I just kept on thinking WJWD (What Jesus Would Do) if He’s in my place, and I was able to make it. Yay! But of course it’s gonna be an everyday mission. I might have succeeded today, but I need to keep on going until it becomes a habit just like breathing. Yey!
Readers, what valuable lesson have you learned today? Let’s talk about it in the comments below!

Hello everyone! Happy 1st of December!!! ^_^ 24 days to go before Christmas, yay!!!
It's 10:39 in the evening as I'm writing this post. I just wanted to tell you all that I had a wonderful day coz I met my long lost sister. Yep! No. Hahaha. I mean that's how I felt after finally meeting one of my YouTube friends, who also stays here in Singapore. It's our first time to meet each other in person but we talked like we've known each other for years. It's pretty amazing! I am 6 years older than her but it's like we have the same brainwaves. We're very alike in so many different ways and it's just so incredibly awesome. I thank God for blessing me with a new friend today. Thanks Jamie for meeting me, smiling at me and sharing your heart with me today. I really appreciate it and I look forward to more stories and laughter the next time we meet.
My dear readers, did you meet a new friend today? How did it go? I'd love to hear your stories. :)

one of what you specifically prayed for has been answered, what do you do? But wait! That's not the end of it. Here's the twist: before you could even claim your prize, another one of your specific prayers has been granted, which now leaves you on the
edge of deciding which of the two you’re going to choose? Hmmm...
Good morning, everyone! How is your Sunday so far? Mine is
filled with answered prayers. I can’t thank God enough for hearing my prayers
and granting my heart’s requests. I just can’t share with you yet what these
answered prayers are but you’d all know it at the right time. :)
Going back to my question above, if you specifically requested
for two different things (because in your heart, you’re okay with either of
them) and you were offered both, which would you choose? And what if you like these
two things equally but you really have to pick one, which would that be?
Let’s say, it is your passion to sing and dance and one day you found an
online singing competition. Wow! So without thinking twice, you auditioned and wished so hard to pass. While
waiting for the results, your friends told you about a dance contest which is
just around the corner and because you also love to dance, you went ahead and
auditioned thinking that either of the two will be okay since they’re
both your passion. So everything seems okay until you found out that you passed
the audition for the online singing competition and before you could even
confirm your participation for the next round, you also learned that you made it
in the dance contest. Huwwaaaaattttt?!?!?!!!
Seriously guys, what
would you do? Tell me, which one would you choose? And please remember that in the example
given above, you love singing and dancing equally. I hope to hear from you,
guys. I’d really love to hear what you all have to say about this. Thanks and have a
blessed Sunday ahead!
