[REVIEW] INDRA MAYA POOL VILLA at NIRWANA GARDENS, BINTAN INDONESIA | HOME AWAY FROM HOME

The first pool
villa experience we had was in Bali Indonesia way back in 2013 and since then,
we’ve been hooked to pool villas. Now, one of the things I really like about
living here in Singapore is its proximity to Indonesia. It’s so easy to plan a
weekend getaway in Indonesia because it’s just an hour away from Singapore. And
I don’t know anymore how much I’ve mentioned this in my blog but as I have also
stated in my previous post, it’s been our habit to go to Bintan Resorts,
specifically Nirwana Gardens at least once a year. So today I’m very happy to
share with you our love affair with Indra Maya Pool Villa at Nirwana Gardens.

Our love affair
with Indra Maya Pool Villa started in June 2013 when our dear friend Pibi
visited us here in Singapore with her husband. Since we weren’t able to attend
their wedding, we decided to treat them to a 2D1N getaway to Bintan Resorts to
make up for it. We wanted it to be intimate but we also wanted to make the most
of our stay so hubby thought why not try the pool villa at Nirwana Gardens, so
we could easily hang out, swim in our private pool with no curfews and even get
to roam around the whole site with our very own buggy. Nice plan! And it’s
indeed one of the nicest plans we’ve ever come up with because it was the start
of our tradition of bringing friends/family to Indra Maya Pool Villa yearly.
If you’ve read my
previous post here on the blog, you’d know that our recent visit to Indra Maya
Pool Villa was just back in August of this year. We treated our aunt to a 3D2N
stay at Nirwana Gardens. We agreed to give them the best of both worlds by
booking their first night at Nirwana Resort Hotel and their second night at
Indra Maya Pool Villa. It’s my hubby’s idea and I say it’s brilliant!
There are
three types of accommodation to choose from:
1.
SEA
VIEW POOL VILLA (2 BEDROOM & 3-BEDROOM)
2.
SEA
FRONT POOL VILLA (2-BEDROOM & 3-BEDROOM)
3.
NIRWANA
POOL VILLA (4-BEDROOM)
While we already experienced staying at both the Sea View and the Sea Front Pool Villas,
we’ve never tried their Nirwana Pool Villa and I don’t see us trying it ever in
the future because it’s just too big and luxurious for us, we wouldn’t really
have a need for it. If you ever find yourself needing a wonderful accommodation
for your special events such as weddings and/or solemnization ceremonies, then
you might want to consider it because it comes with 4 bedrooms – each
consisting of a King-sized bed and a large en-suite bathroom with sunken
bathtub and shower area. Very luxurious indeed!
And because Indra
Maya Pool Villa is a part of Nirwana Gardens, we can still freely roam around
the whole site and even swim in Nirwana Resort Hotel’s Infinity Pool if we
liked.
Is proximity to
Singapore the only reason we keep coming back to Indra Maya Pool Villa?
While we really
love how easy it is to get to this pool villa from Singapore, there are so many
other things we really love about it, so instead of talking to you about our
recent stay there, I’d just share with you some of the awesome things that made
us fall in love with this place off the top of my head:
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Visit after visit,
they never fail to serve us superbly. We’re always very well taken care of
whenever we stay in one of their villas. Whenever there’s something we think we
need but we don’t see in the villa, we just call them and they always politely
answer us with a “can do” manner,
which we totally appreciate. I can’t remember of any instance where we requested
for something and didn’t get it. They always happily deliver to us whatever we
ask for. That’s why I can really agree with their statement on their website which
says, “One of the best highlights of
Indra Maya Pool Villas’ exclusive privileges is our Personalized Villa Host
Service, a magnificent and personalized service catering to your discerning
needs and attention” because it’s true!
PERSONAL BUGGY
This is the real
reason we keep coming back! LOL. Believe it or not, having the chance to own
and drive a personal buggy for the duration of our stay is enough reason for my
husband to book this villa over and over again. There’s something about driving
a buggy around the resort that is very relaxing and keeping my husband’s mind
away from the stress of work even for just a short while. He’s in a lot of
stress because of work and this little treat is really something for him.

PRIVATE POOL
If the personal
buggy is my hubby’s personal reason
for wishing to always come back here, mine is the private pool. Their private
pool is better than that of Montigo Resorts, which is more like a kiddie pool,
because here, it’s bigger and deeper. Also, having a private pool is always a
big YES to an introvert girl like me who wants to swim in the pool, but doesn’t
want seeing and being seen by people. Story of my life.
THE VILLA IS ACTUALLY
SPACIOUS AND CLEAN
The cleanliness
and quality of every accommodation we book is very important to us and luckily,
their villas don’t disappoint. The architecture of the villas is really great
too! According to their website, it’s actually an exquisite fusion of exotic Indonesian, Thai and Chinese
architectural elements.

THE KITCHEN IS
FUNCTIONAL AND COMPLETE WITH ALL THE BASIC THINGS
We never fail to
bring our own food whenever we come here because we know that we have a fully
functional kitchen here that we can use. It’s literally like a house—NO, more
like a home actually. Yep! A home away from home. That’s how I’ve always seen
this pool villa and I’m a little mad at myself for taking this long to write this
post about this place when it is very dear to my heart.

THEY HAVE COMPLIMENTARY
NESCAFE DOLCE GUSTO COFFEE MACHINE WITH COFFEE CAPSULES PROVIDED AND TEA MAKING
FACILITIES
For a coffee lover
like me, this is heaven! When our aunt visited us in Singapore in August, we
also brought them here and we both enjoyed making our cups of coffee with this
wonderful machine.

THE ONLY PLACE WE’VE STAYED
AT WITH A FRIDGE FULL OF DRINKS WE CAN ACTUALLY DRINK FOR FREE AND WAIT THERE’S
MORE! THEY REPLENISH OUR BOTTLED WATER EVERYTIME WE CALL FOR IT.
That says it all.
Whatever drinks you see in the fridge when you enter your villa are all yours.
You’d also most likely see a basket of fresh fruits on the dining table when
you arrive. That’s yours, too, for free!
IT’S NEAR KELONG!
The pool villas
are also situated near Kelong, our favorite seafood restaurant not only
because of the food they serve but also because of the view.

BBQ BY THE POOL!
This is one of the
best things about booking a private pool villa. Not only do you get to swim all
you want, you can also order for a BBQ party by your own pool! This is a
must-try!
DECENT BUFFET
BREAKFAST!
The good things do
not stop there. I cannot forget to mention that they have a very decent
complimentary buffet breakfast, too, with lots of food options that I can
really eat. It’s also very relaxing to eat at the restaurant/café while looking
at the peaceful and majestic view of the sea. Yep! The restaurant is facing the
sea and ain’t it super nice to eat your breakfast while treating your eyes to
such a beautiful view?

Maybe I have not given this lovely place enough justice with this post but believe it or not, booking this pool villa for a weekend getaway with your friends and/or family is soooo worth it! Besides, what I've shared in this post is not all of it. These are just some of the awesome things I can remember off the top of my head. It’s a shame really that it took me this long to
write this post but I’m still happy that though this is waaay overdue, I still did
manage to write my thoughts down about this wonderful place. I guess it's true then that there are really times where you'd find it harder to write about the stuff you love so much than the things you hate, haha. Anyway, I’m already
