I used to not pay any attention to my birthday. I even used to think that just thinking about my birthday is already a sign of immaturity. I don’t know how I adopted that ridiculous idea and where or
who I got that from but for a long time, I have been avoiding any discussion
revolving around my birthday. But this year is different. It was my birthday five
days ago and I was very happy to celebrate it because I realized, “why
shouldn't I?” Birthdays, after all, are a reminder of God's miracle
called LIFE. So let us all be happy about our birthdays and let us do our best to
celebrate it every way we can! :)
When
I woke up this morning, the first thing I thought of was, "whoah! i'm still alive."
Don't be alarmed. I'm not sick, okay? I'm just amazed that I'm still breathing.
You see, I'm a masterpiece of God. And so are you! The awesome fact that I
still breathe is purely God's work. It's God's blessing that I still live up to this day to witness God's creations, God's miracles. And
so it dawned on me that I don't need to receive anything more than what I am
getting every single day from God to call myself blessed. The mere fact I'm
alive is reason enough to be thankful.
As
usual, my husband kissed me on the lips before he took a bath this morning. He was smiling when he got out of the shower and while he was prepping
for work. He's happy and I'm happy. Due to the nature of his job, he has to go
to work every other weekend and this is that weekend for him. He reached his office
safely and I had a wonderful morning with my sister and her family.
Truly
it's the little things that make life wonderful and all these are because of
God. He is the beginning and the end. I realized once again that just the
thought of God's love is enough to fill me up and keep me going day by day. His
grace and mercy are what keeping me alive and well up to this day. And now that
my birthday is just two sleeps away, I have nothing but never-ending gratitude
to my Father in heaven for sending Jesus Christ for my salvation and for making
it possible for me to live this long.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Lord. Thank you for all the little things that make my life happy, interesting and
wonderful.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! You know what the hardest part of writing a blog
post is? The introduction. I always had difficulty starting my articles but
once I get on with it, it becomes easier and sometimes even great, just like my
2016. It started gloomy but ended miraculously bright and wonderful! So while
there are already lots of posts out there about their “goals for this year”,
their “resolutions” and the whatnots, and you probably wouldn’t even care about
this post of mine, I still want to write and publish this. Even if no one would
read this, I know I would because this will always remind me how God has always
been great to me despite my nonsense whining at times (or most of the time). So
without further ado, allow me to share with you a recap of the year that was
for me.
How was your Saturday? Mine's a little bit busy. It all started with the laundry coz it's Saturday, surprise surprise!
Then I made us some French toast for
breakfast.
By the time I finished hanging all the clothes,
it's already time for lunch, but I didn't bother prepping for it coz we've made
plans to go out to do a little bit of shopping for our upcoming Korea
getaway.

#OOTD |
It's our first time at Changi City Point and exploring
it was really fun yet very tiring. I also like the interior design of this
mall, too bad I forgot to take some photos.
We decided to have a light lunch at the food court and here's our view.
After almost three hours of roaming around,
browsing and deciding which stall has the better version of what we need, we ended
taking home these 5 plastic bags of goodies. Stay tuned for an upcoming haul.
It's almost 9pm when we arrived home. We
didn't eat dinner coz we didn't really feel like eating. We were more of
exhausted than hungry.
Before retiring to my bed, I first collected all our clothes from where I hung them outside, cleansed my face of makeup, did my nightly skincare routine and watched The Voice of the Philippines on TFC channel.

Hi
everyone!
Ever since
I gave up my love affair with coffee, I’ve been on the quest for finding the
perfect drink that would replace it. I’m not making this post today because I’ve
finally found it. I’m writing this entry because I want to share with you what
I’ve stumbled upon while I’m on my hunt. This:
If you’re
going to talk to me about “drinking tea” a year ago, you’d definitely be
talking to someone who is clearly not interested and would never ever, even in the
next 10 years, try to drink tea. But things have changed, and I’m now open to
the health benefits and calming effects of drinking tea.
A couple
weeks ago, we bought our groceries and I finally had the courage to pick up a
green tea pack. Before I could even put it in our basket, my hubby suggested
why don’t I try this one from Twinings first since it’s gonna be my first time
to really drink tea. Yeah, because I’ve been drinking milk tea over the past
weeks but it’s not like, you know the real tea. I only bought a pack of 30
sachets of milk tea as my transition to drinking the real one, if you get what I mean. So I picked this up because it
says “Green Tea & Apple” and I like apples.
I tried it
the next day and after my first sip, oh boy, it’s really not my cup of tea. I mean
it’s bitter… for me. I’ve really never tried drinking the teabag-teas (that’s
how I wanna call it), so my initial reaction was, “it’s bitter and I don’t like it.” But I thought, I can’t just give
up like that. It may have just tasted bitter only because it’s my first time. So
I convinced myself to try it again but I needed to sweeten it up a bit. And because
we didn’t have honey, I decided to use sugar for the time being just to make it
a tad sweeter. I tasted it again and thought, “hmmm it’s not really that bad”.
One thing I
noticed is that its aftertaste is apple-ish and so is its aroma (that's why it's green tea & apple, duh!). I was able to
finish it up and oh boy did I feel good right after my last sip! It’s like “SUCCESS!”
And also, it’s true that drinking tea can really give that kind of warmth which I normally only feel when I’m at peace.
It also gave that calming feeling and it just felt so good! No wonder why many
people prefer tea over coffee when they want to relax. Even though tea also has
a bit of caffeine, it doesn’t make me that perky, instead it relaxes me. And even
when drunk at night, it doesn’t keep me awake unlike coffee.
This Twinings
of London Green Tea & Apple contains 25 tea bags. I bought it for a little
below 7 Sgd (sorry, I’ve thrown away the receipt already) at FairPrice. I’ve
been drinking this for the past 5 days, mostly in the mornings and I like how
it helps with my digestion. It also helps set the mood for the day. Once I’ve
finished this all up, I won’t stop until I find the perfect tea to replace my
morning coffee habit. I never thought I’d be like this and I’m happy because it
feels so right! I’m proud to say that I’ve finally had the tea experience and I
want more!
Hi
everyone!
I know the
title says “weekly” but this post will be a summary of my past two weeks coz... I just didn’t have the luxury of time to blog a weekly summary last week, my bad. :(
Alright!
I’ve been very busy this past two weeks. I had my passport size photo taken for
my visa application for Korea, went to Korea embassy for the actual application
for visa, got 5 free samples from Kiehl’s, tested new products for review, took
photos of products, collected my approved visa (yey!), filmed new videos for my beauty channel, edited some of ‘em, had a movie date with my hubby twice, helped
hubby cooked Filipino style spaghetti, did the usual wifey chores, ate at our
fave restaurant (pepper lunch) and tried their cheesy omelet, went to Sephora
and discovered that they now have NYX (yipee!), wrote an article on swirlpost.com and
accomplished a few other things for my other youtube channel. And because I don’t
want to bore you with such a long post, this entry will be the summary of my
past two weeks IN PHOTOS! :)
